Shark Attack in Port St. Johns 21 March 2009
SHARK MANAGEMENT: Wild Coast lifeguard, Mongezi Geli, erects shark warning flags on the beach at Port St Johns in the Eastern Cape following the second fatal shark attack in the area in two months. The OR Tambo District Municipality and Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism agreed last week to appoint a team of experts to investigate the attacks and report-back with recommendations within two weeks. In the meantime, the district and local municipalities moved hastily to erect warning flags to prevent further loss of life. 21 March 2009
