Green Point Stadium update – 15 September 2009

A layer of gravel is laid down in preparation for the green grass of the pitch at the Fifa 2010 Soccer World Cup stadium in Green Point.  The gravel, consisting of washed stones, covers drainage pipes. The company contracted to lay the pitch, Groenvlei Gras, says this will be followed by a layer of sand before the pre-grown grass is unrolled onto the surface.
