Springboks eat Lions … And fans dress for the occasion – 20 June 2009
The Springboks beat the touring British and Irish Lions in their first test against the visitors in Durban on June 20. The Lions were mauled during the first half, but came back in the second half to score a pair of tries. The Absa stadium in Durban was a sea of red was packed as it was with Lions fans visiting South Africa to follow their team. But despite the roars of the Lions fans, the Boks – and particularly the Beast – ate the Lions to prove that they are still the world’s best rugby team.
