Madiba awaits return of exiles

In 1990 struggle veterans Joe Slovo (right) and Alfred Nzo (left) returned to a democratic South Africa after years in exile. Longtime friend and comrade, Nelson Mandela, met them on their historic return. An excited Nelson Mandela awaits the return of exiled struggle veterans at the then Jan Smuts airport in Johannesburg.
