Chief Zwelivelile ‘Mandla’ Mandela shares Madiba’s birthday cake with the children of Mvezo – 18 July 2010
Children from Mvezo, where Nelson Mandela was born and where his grandson – Chief Zwelivelile ‘Mandla’ Mandela – is now chief, were treated to slices of delicious birthday cake from the high profile party held at the village in honour of Nelson Mandela’s 92nd birthday.
Chief Mandela, in a gesture reminiscent of his grandfather, personally sliced up the large cakes and gave each child from schools in the area a piece, chatting and laughing with them as he did so. President Jacob Zuma and as well as several cabinet ministers, celebrities and villagers attended the party.
