The Grand Parade in Cape Town: city’s official Fifa Fan Park for the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup – 19 June 2009

The Grand Parade in the city centre of Cape Town is being paved as part of its R24 million upgrade in preparation for the 2010 Fifa Soccer World Cup. The public space opposite the City Hall, which started out as a market in 1710, has been chosen as the city’s official Fifa Fan Park. Local and international fans will converge here to watch all 64 World Cup matches.
