Service delivery protests in Khayelitsha

South Africa has experienced dozens of “service delivery protests” across the country in recent months. The protests have affected communities from the North to the South of the country, including Khayelitsha, in Cape Town, where these photographs were taken. While each service delivery protest has its own local context, what they have in common is that they all highlight poor people’s demands for better living conditions and more dignified lives.
