Cape Minstrels 16 December 2008
Traditionally dressed members of the Cape Minstrels, taking part in a parade. The parade, through the streets of Cape Town on December 16th, is known as the ‘voorsmaak’ and gives the public an idea of what they can expect from the main carnival in early January.
Cecil Waterloo, known in his community as Uncle Dopie paints his face in the traditional ‘whiteface’ style in preparation for the Cape Minstrel Parade.
